Bendy and the Ink Machine Custom Beargguy

Check out my latest custom Beargguy! My kids are in love with Bendy and the Ink Machine, so I thought I would do this for them! I used a Beargguy and some wood blocks for the base. The cut-outs are just cardboard.

If you would like to see more pictures, please visit My Flickr Page. This is currently not for sale, but I do have a lot of other customs for sale on My Etsy Page.

Custom Painted Groot Bop It!

“The last surviving member of a tree-like alien race, Groot is perhaps one of the most unusual beings in all the cosmos. Though calm and quiet in most instances, he is known to unleash his tremendous strength on any enemy foolish enough to threaten his allies, particularly his long- time partner in crime, Rocket. Though he can only vocalize using the phrase, “I am Groot,” the gentle giant’s friends are nevertheless able to understand his exact meaning through his subtle inflections.”

Here is a custom painted Groot Bop It! Game. I wanted a little Groot figure, but all of the decent looking ones were really expensive. I saw this at my local Wal Mart, and I new it could look awesome! As you can see from the picture, the one on the right is the original and has a lot to be desired. The best part is that this is still a functional Bop It!

If you are interested in buying one, I have a few available on My Etsy Store. Thanks.

Cerberus Pikachu Custom Figure

Cerberus Pikachu
In ancient Alola mythology, there exists a three headed rodent called Cerberus Pikachu that guards the entrance to the underworld, a misty and gloomy place in which spirits of the dead are permitted to enter but none are allowed to leave. Cerberus Pikachu fawned on the dead or new spirits as they entered, but would savagely eat anyone trying to pass back through the gates and return to the land of the living.

I have been wanting to make a three headed Pokémon for quite a while, but I couldn’t find any that fit this cool Cerberus body I had. I finally got a break at my local thrift store, where I found two out of the three heads. After a quick search on eBay, I found what I needed, and what you see is what I came up with. All the parts were found randomly in thrift stores (except one of the Pikachu heads and the base). I had to do a little sculpting to get the transition between furry dog, and not so furry Pikachu, but I think it came out great.

Buff Pokemans Pikachu Bootleg Figure

bootleg pikachu

I know it has been a little while since I have posted, but I have been working on something pretty big. Here is my latest custom project, a buff Pikachu “Pokemans” figure with card and blister pack. I have wanted to make my own “bootleg” figures for a while, but I was not sure what character I should do. This was originally a quick custom, but I like the idea so much, I decided to “mass produce” it.

Pokemans is made with resin, and is painted with a gloss yellow base, acrylic, and oil paints. Since this is my first run, I decided to only make 25 to see how well things go. Making this figure was a long process, but I learned so much. The process was a lot more involved than I thought it would be.

The figure stands about 5 inches and the card is 5″x7″. The blister pack was custom made with a homemade vacuum former, and the card backs were put together by me. If you are interested in purchasing this, please go to My Etsy Page. Depending on how this does, I will make more collectable bootleg figures in the future. If you would like to see what I am currently working on, please like me on My Face Page.

Mech Mario and Princess Peach at the Movies

Mech Mario and Princess Peach at the Movies

Do you ever what Mario and Peach do with their spare time? I figure they do the same things we all like to do, like go to the movies in a mech suit. If I had a mech suit, I would totally wear it everywhere. Unfortunately for Mario and Peach, the kids behind them are being quite annoying, but at least Pikachu is enjoying the movie.

I used a World of Springfield Movie theater play set, a bunch of random Gundam parts and pieces, an anime girl for Princess Peach’s body, and some Rement food miniatures to finish of the piece. I also wired up a piece of EL (electro-luminescent) panel behind the movie screen so that it really looks like they are watching on the big screen.

If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. I have this available for purchase at My Etsy Shop. The last one of these sold out within a day, so if you are thinking of picking this up, please hurry. Thanks so much.

Kodykoala’s Nintendo Mech Bar

Nintendo Mech Bar

Where can you go after a long day of Mech fights and battles? Come down to the Nintendo Mech Bar, where we have everything a person needs to relax. Come enjoy our lovely bar keep Peach, and her sometimes annoying pet Pikachu. Watch current events on our retro TV, or enjoy a nice drink. We also have an amazing love tester. Find out if you are a Super Star, or just a Goomba. We accept all major credit cards, and as always Mushroom Kingdom Cash is accepted.

After making the Arcade, I got inspired to make other small diorama type customs. I really fell in love with the “World of Springfield” Simpsons playsets, so I am using quite a few in my next series of customs. The main base is a Moe’s Tavern, Princess Peach’s body is an anime gashapon, Mario and Walugi’s bodies are Gundam figures, and the rest was modified to fit the theme.

If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. I am also selling this on My Etsy Page, so if you are interested in getting this, it is currently available. This is no longer available. Sorry

Nintendo Mech Arcade

Lately I have been working on a lot of more affordable customs to sell. While I was working on them, I got the idea to make a diorama of mechs playing arcade machines. Of course I had to add a Nintendo twist to it. The lights and arcade screens even light up.

For the build, I used a World of Springfield playset, a 1/200 Gundam figure for Luigi, a Gundam gashapon figure for Toad, a World of Nintendo Skull Kid, and a Megaman figure that I had lying around (not sure what set he is from). I wired the LEDs and used the battery compartment that was already available in the playset.

If you would like to see more, please visit My Flickr Page. I am still debating whether I will be selling this piece, but when I do, I will post it on My Etsy Page. For more updates, please like me on Facebook.

Kodykoala’s Custom Luigi’s Mansion Scene

Luigi's Mansion

Here is another commissioned piece. The buyer wanted a Luigi’s Mansion diorama where Luigi was blowing up Princess Peach’s dress with the Poltergust. Here is the final result. This was a really cool idea, and I was happy to do this. This is totally an idea I would do (especially after the Dr. Mario piece)

I used a World of Nintendo Princess Peach. I sculpted the dress from scratch, and the legs are from a random anime figure I had lying around. The Luigi is a Bandai Figuarts figure. I filled in the joints to make him a statue, and the hands were modified to hold the Poltergust. The Poltergust and the ghost were sculpted from scratch.

Kodykoala’s Custom Spyro Snow Globe

It’s been a while since I have made a Snow Globe, and it was a lot of fun. This is a commissioned piece, and the buyer requested Spyro. Luckily I had a spare Spyro lying around, and I have a soft spot for dragons. Here is Spyro’s bio from Skylanders.com:

Spyro hails from a rare line of magical purple dragons who can harness the power of the Elements of Skylands, though he prefers to master fire. But his innate ability with Elemental powers also leaves him vulnerable to darker magic. When The Darkness is nearby, Spyro can channel its energy and combine its power with his own, becoming Dark Spyro! Over the years, he has learned to focus and control this power, using dark magic to fight the forces of evil.

I used a Spyro Skylander from the original game, a portal of power from the 3DS version of the original game, a LEGO Santa Clause hat, and a snow globe kit that I purchased from Amazon. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page.

Kodykoala’s Custom Mario Mech Hangar Bay

Mario Mech Hangar Bay

Here is one of my biggest projects to date. This project is about 18 inches wide x 14 inches deep x 16 inches tall. I have been working on this for the last year (off and on), and it was well worth the time it took. The Mario Mech has already been done, but I wanted to show all the work it takes to put one together. Mario has a specialized team of Engineers and Technicians helping to maintain and repair this giant Mech.

I used the Giant Mario cut in half, and studded with straight pins to look like rivets. The base is a mechanical chain base, and the scaffolding is made from LEGO bricks. I used a lot of parts from my spare parts bins, and I used up a whole lot of my Nintendo figures. Most of the hand tools are LEGO minifigure tools. I gave this a “dirty” painting style so that it had a grimy feel.
